EduBehaviors: researcher-revised assertion schemas for educational dialogue
EduBehaviors decomposes educational-dialogue constructs into interpretable assertions and an explicit label-mapping rule, with researcher review and revision.

Research applicability
A researcher-supervised assertion and annotation method for educational dialogue research.
Getting started
Read the linked primary sources and the stated adoption requirements. Reuse suggestions are editorial and untested; no setup recipe or trial was executed.
Maintenance
Sources last checked on 2026-10-19. Future availability, maintenance, provider terms and compatibility were not verified.
License
Primary HTML states CC BY 4.0; toolkit, data and model terms and governance were not audited.
Workflow & human oversight
Scoped L2 for researcher-defined constructs and approval/revision of generated assertions, LLM/encoder annotation, explicit mapping/classifier decisions and review-based iteration. Researchers judge assertion faithfulness and construct fit. Cross-model agreement does not establish construct validity or L3/L4 autonomy; TalkMoves results remain author-reported.
Workflow level is not an evidence score; higher is not better evidence.
Approach
Researchers describe a construct, approve/edit generated assertions, inspect utterances and revise assertions or rules until their validation criteria are met. The paper reports TalkMoves LLM-annotation and trained-classifier experiments and separately describes a toolkit; cross-model agreement is a consistency proxy.
Limitations
Selected original-v2 HTML abstract, framework/toolkit, performance, discussion and limitation sections only; not all appendices, references, code, data, dialogue, weights, toolkit/UI or model endpoints. The reported macro-F1 .764/kappa .756 is task-specific, using session-grouped folds over 50 TalkMoves sessions. Encoder results on 495 other sessions use a different setup and are not a common benchmark. Performance, cost and provider details were not independently verified. Shared LLM errors can survive agreement; assertion gold validation, out-of-context encoder limits and user discretion remain concerns. No general superiority, educational benefit, privacy, consent, de-identification or high-stakes grading guarantee is established. No student-level data was accessed.
Reproducibility
Source text was checked only within this scope: Selected original-v2 HTML framework, toolkit and evaluation/limitation passages. No software, dataset, experiment or result was independently reproduced.
Adoption requirements
Untested suggestion: inspect the original v2 method, establish dialogue-data rights/privacy and construct-specific human gold checks, and assess transfer before a trial.
